What Is Sire-GreenLight Core?
Sire-GreenLight Core is a trend-continuation momentum indicator built for index futures traders. It identifies high-probability entries by tracking consecutive directional bars against a 20 EMA bias and filtering through four independent confirmation layers.
The indicator produces three signal types — L8/B8 PRO (highest conviction), L4/B4 (early warning), and Gap 20 EMA (continuation alert) — each representing a different level of momentum confirmation.
The Three Signal Types
Each signal type fires under different momentum conditions. PRO signals are the highest conviction. Early signals give you a head start. Gap alerts catch momentum breakouts.
Fires when 8 consecutive directional bars align with the 20 EMA bias and pass all four filters.
L8 = 8 bullish bars above 20 EMA (buy)
B8 = 8 bearish bars below 20 EMA (sell)
Fires when 4 consecutive directional bars appear with EMA alignment. A precursor to a potential L8/B8.
L4 = 4 bullish bars (watch for L8)
B4 = 4 bearish bars (watch for B8)
Fires when price gaps significantly away from the 20 EMA after a trend has established. Indicates strong momentum continuation.
The 4-Filter System
Every signal must pass through four independent filters before it fires. This layered confirmation system eliminates low-quality signals.
How to Use Sire-GreenLight Core
Step 1 — Check the 20 EMA bias. Is price above or below? This determines which direction you should be looking for signals.
Step 2 — Watch for L4/B4 early warnings. When 4 consecutive bars align with the EMA, start preparing. The trend is building.
Step 3 — Wait for L8/B8 PRO confirmation. When 8 consecutive bars pass all four filters, this is your entry signal.
Step 4 — Monitor Gap 20 EMA alerts. If price gaps away from the EMA after a PRO signal, the trend is accelerating.
Step 5 — Exit when the consecutive bar count resets or when price crosses back through the 20 EMA.
When It Works Best
5-minute chart — primary execution timeframe
Index futures — MNQ, MES, ES, NQ
Active sessions — NY and London overlap for best volume
Low volume periods — lunch hour, pre-market, holidays
1-minute chart — too noisy
FOMC / news events — volatility spikes break the filter logic
